All year long this guy makes balloons of all shapes and kinds down at Fisherman’s Wharf. The Elmo hat seemed so comical. The purple of his shirt and skin was really set off against the vibrant magenta of the balloon. The sky was an almost teal green that day, helping to make this a nice split complement composition.

I spied this flower as I was out for my morning walk. It was standing radiantly in the sun while the rest of its stem was rooted in the shadows. Its vibrant color so stood out against the background as if it were already a tenebristic painting.
