The newest installment of the Podcast/radio show called “Radiolab” had the most (as they usually do) interesting concept. Namely, that we don’t begin to think until we begin to speak and it is through an internal dialog that we adopt from those around us and have internalized that we begin to think and reason. The example that they use is a mother helping her child learn to sort a puzzle with leading reasoning. Soon that child internalizes that dialog and it fosters their own thought, original thought. Learning art is similar you must have conversations about the concepts and how to “See” visually, but then that external dialog becomes internal, visual, spatial, and abstract thinking can happen.
