Alsea Falls

Demetrius Jameson, my fathers painting teacher, would fill his VW microbus with students, paint, and Greek wine and travel up the mountain to paint the falls on the Alsea river. There they sat perched upon it’s banks and did their best to record the stories the river told in watercolor, oil, and pencil. I was too young to attend then, but I found that the river still has much to teach, and the spirit of beauty still abounds.
